"I am very pleased to write a reference supporting the practice of healing through Reiki. Our daughter suffered an acquired brain injury (ABI) and ruptured her liver as a result of a skiing accident. Staff members of The Hospital for Sick Children and of the Bloorview-MacMillan Rehabilitation Centre informed us that we could expect the healing of the internal organs and the return of all her abilities (damaged by the ABI) to take as many as six to eight weeks of care and bed rest.

Prior to Mrs. Crapo's very generous offer to perform Reiki on our daughter, we knew nothing about this art. The hospital for Sick Children employs Reiki in their neo-natal ward with great success. This art is completely un-invasive and involves the transferring of positive energy from the giver without the receiver even needing to be touched. Neither does the receiver need to be immobile. This is particularly convenient as it is often difficult for children to lie still for extended periods of time. As a matter of fact, the beneficial attributes can even be sent "long distance".

Our daughter, despite the prognosis of the doctors and therapists, has recovered from her injuries in fewer than four weeks. I strongly feel that Mrs. Crapo's intervention through Reiki, played a great part in her speedy recovery. Although my daughter was invited to sit up, eat, chat, during the sessions, she invariably fell into a deep sleep partway through the Reiki and woke many hours later feeling refreshed. She described the feeling as warm and comfortable as Laura worked on her.

Following major head injuries, my six year old daughter was given Reiki sessions by Laura Crapo. The effects were impressive: headache [reduction] to very mild, little tiredness, and definite gain of energy. Laura's Reiki is a truly wonderful experience. I like to call her "Magic Hands."" Very relaxing and soothing. [In her healing sessions and readings] I also learned things about myself that I didn't know. It's something you can feel even when you're not in her presence.
